Looking to get your hands on the Galaxy A9? Samsung's first smartphone with four rear cameras will officially go on sale in Malaysia this week.
The device will be available at the Galaxy Experience roadshows from Nov 23-25 at three locations, namely 1Utama Shopping Centre in Selangor, Gurney Plaza in Penang and City Square in Johor.
Customers who purchase the Galaxy A9 will receive exclusive rewards worth RM783 which include a JBL Go 2 portable Bluetooth speaker, a Samsung 128GB microSD memory card, a 10,000 mAh battery pack, a screen protection plan, three months Spotify premium subscription and three TGV movie tickets.
The Galaxy A9 has a 6.3in full rectangle Super Amoled display with FHD+ (2,220 x 1,080 pixels) resolution. The device runs on Octa-Core processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal space, and supports microSD expandable memory of up to 512GB.
Its main draw is of course the world's first rear quad-camera setup on a smartphone. The A9 has an 8-megapixel sensor with a 120° ultra-wide lens, and 24-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors that work together to produce the Bokeh effect, and a 10-megapixel sensor with telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom.
Other photo features include Scene Optimiser for 19 modes like Street Scenes, Night Scenes, Portraits, Food and 24-megapixel front-facing camera.
The A9 comes with 3,800mAh battery capacity, fingerprint reader, face recognition and supports fast charging. The device retails for RM1,999 and comes in three colours; Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink.
Along with the A9, Samsung will also be introducing its very own augmented reality (AR) mobile game ManaBox. The app comes with a game for users to collect Mana coins that can be used to redeem goodies like drinks, movie tickets, Grab vouchers and more.
The ManaBox app will be available for download via the Google Play Store on Nov 23. It will only be available on the Apple App Store on Jan 8, 2019.
