Zeiss has unveiled its new ZX1 full-format compact camera that allows for integrated processing of RAW image files with Adobe Photoshop CC.

Editing is done on a 4.3-inch multi-touch display, which has a slight curve on the far right. Although the interface is similar to a smartphone, the otherwise minimalist camera also features a viewfinder and two conventional dials.

The ZX1 will come with a newly designed Distagon 35mm F2 fixed lens with autofocus, which Zeiss says is perfectly matched to its 37.4 megapixel sensor. Another special feature of the ZX1 is its 512 GB of internal memory.

Users can also send images to the internet and to other devices using WiFi, Bluetooth and USB-C. The ZX1 is due for release in early 2019, and Zeiss has yet to announce a price tag. – dpa
