Keep track of the condition of your SSD

The memory modules in SSD hard disks are not designed for an infinite number of write and delete operations. This means users should keep an eye on the drive's health status to avoid losing data in the worst case scenario.

A good way to check its condition is using the maintenance program from the drive's manufacturer.

Unlike all-round maintenance tools, these programs are optimally tuned to the SSDs of the respective manufacturer and also offer more features, such as freeing up space or providing firmware updates.

Even so, you should still back up your data – ideally on a non-SSD external hard drive. – dpa
