The UK Government is mulling regulation that could keep drones out of the hands of children and allow police to hand out fines to those misusing drones.
The measures were announced as part of a consultation over new drone legislation that will shape the content of the Drones Bill slated to be published later this year.
The proposed measures include minimum age restrictions for drone owners in addition to the new tests they will need to take and regulating which apps pilots can use to programme flight plans.
The consultation is also over granting police the power to issue summonses on the spot to those disregarding drone rules and introducing counter-drone technology to protect public events and critical national infrastructure, and stop contraband reaching prisons.
As the proposals were in early stages, no age limit was set yet.
