The newer Huawei phones, including the P20, will not be able to install the VLC app from Google Play.

VLC media player is taking a stand against Huawei and is blacklisting some of its newer phones from installing the app from the Google Play store.

Making the announcement via a tweet, the VLC team claims that Huawei's aggressive battery management that kills all background apps (except their own) is affecting VLC's background audio playback feature.
