Most Bluetooth loudspeakers nowadays also double as powerbanks for charging smartphones and other devices over USB cable.

According to product testers from German tech magazine Chip, 29 of the 35 Bluetooth speakers they tested also worked as power suppliers.

However, the battery life while playing music varies strongly. Depending on the size of the built-in battery, it lies somewhere between four and 45 hours.

It's also worth taking a look at the weight of the speakers before purchasing them, advise the testers. Those who would often like to carry their Bluetooth speaker on them – for example, in their backpack or on their bicycle – should get a device weighing a maximum of 500 grams. The heaviest speakers tested clocked in at two and even more than three kilograms on the scales. — dpa
