More early Spider-Man information has made its way into the public domain but this time courtesy of a video game voice actor rather than the movie franchise lead.

In preparation for September's PlayStation 4 release Marvel's Spider-Man, Sony Interactive Entertainment and game studio Sucker Punch have been drip-feeding news about the game's contents and characters.

Philanthropist and supervillain Mister Negative was one of the first reveals, with Kingpin, Electro, Rhino, and Vulture among others; a peak-fitness Peter Parker would be joined by sympathetic characters such as Mary Jane, aunt May, and even Miles Morales.

During its showcase presentation at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, PlayStation had confirmed a number of those supervillain identities through a flashy seven-minute video.

The sequence culminated in a face-off between five supervillains, but stopped short of revealing a mystery sixth character.
