Kayak has become the latest travel service to launch a new tool aimed at making group travel easier – and more democratic.
Instead of having to comb through long email threads and group chats, Trip Huddle allows travellers to cast their votes on where they'd like to go and stay for their next group vacation.
To start, the 'group leader' or organizer names their group trip and adds friends and family members. A selection of destinations can be added, along with travel dates and hotel and vacation rental options.
Travellers can then vote to make the final decision easier and more democratic for the person in charge.
In response to the rise of group travel, Airbnb also launched a split payment feature last year which allows travellers to split the cost of their home rental.
In an Airbnb poll, 38% of travellers said they've been short-changed from a group trip either from people who never ponied up their of the vacation of from forking over more than their fair share. — AFP Relaxnews
