(L-R) Celcom Axiata Berhad head of marketing (prepaid and postpaid) Daren Victor, deputy CEO Azwan Khan Osman Khan, pricing and retail marketing head Zuwairi Zakaria, and product management A’an Sriyani unveiling the company's new Home Wireless broadband service.

People looking to spruce up their homes at Homedec KLCC stand a chance to win a one-year free subscription to Celcom’s new Home Wireless broadband service.

Ten 10 free subscriptions are up for grabs in conjunction with the telco’s launch of its Home Wireless service, which offers broadband speeds of around 30Mbps (megabits per second).

Celcom Axiata Bhd deputy CEO Azwan Khan Osman Khan said the service aims to provide a simple plug-and-play solution with plenty of data, including access to its Video and Music Walla service.

The Walla service allocates a separate pool of data for popular video and music streaming services, including dimsum, AstroGo, Netflix, YouTube, Joox and various local radio stations.

Celcom offers three plans – Gold offers 25GB data and 40GB Walla data for RM70 a month, Gold plus offers 50GB data and 100GB Walla data for RM106 a month and Platinum offers 150GB data and 1TB Walla data for RM159 a month.

Subscribers will also get a free Huawei B618 router worth RM1,500 that provides WiFi connection for up to 64 devices.

The plans come with a 24-month contract, though there is a 30-day return policy which allows users terminate the contract but they have to return the router to the store they signed up at.

Users who cancel the plan before the contract ends will have to pay RM499 for the router though this fee could be less depending on the number of months left in the contract. However, the router is SIM-locked to Celcom and location locked to the registered address.

Also, there is no charge to upgrade the package though an RM50 fee will be imposed for downgrading.

The offer at Homedec KLCC for the one-year free subscription is open to anyone visiting the Homedec exhibition from now until April 29, and the winner can pick either the Gold or Platinum plan.

Visitors who are also existing Celcom First Gold Plus, Gold Supreme Platinum and Platinum Plus postpaid users will be given an RM15 rebate for 24 months if  they register for the Home Wireless Platinum package.

More information is available at Celcom’s Home Wireless page.
