Google to make major AR push at Mobile World Congress

Among 2,000 Android users surveyed in France, Germany, Italy and Spain, around 28% download additional search apps, 29% download at least one new app store, and 23% download at least one alternative web browser to the apps that come pre-installed, the alliance said.

LOS ANGELES: Google is set to make a major push to bring augmented reality technology (AR) to Android at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, Variety has learned from sources familiar with the company’s plans. 

Central to these efforts will be the release of the company’s ARCore framework, which will allow third-party developers to bring AR apps to Android phones.
