FRANKFURT: China's Huawei said on Feb 6 it will spend a further £3bil (RM16.36bil) on procurement in Britain as the world's largest telecom equipment maker seeks alternatives to the United States, where it faces an effective ban.
Huawei said its chairwoman Sun Yafang made the pledge in a meeting last week with British Prime Minister Theresa May during a trade mission to China which resulted in deals worth more than £9.3bil (RM50.74bil).
