Nintendo is releasing several new titles for its portable Switch console, among them a new Mario Tennis game.

The forthcoming Mario Tennis Aces is expected to have a story mode in addition to multiplayer gaming, Nintendo announced at the CES electronics fair in Las Vegas.

The release is scheduled for spring 2018, 18 years after Mario's tennis debut on the Nintendo 64 console.

The latest sports title is among several Nintendo remakes and ports planned for spring, including the extremely challenging Dark Souls Remastered, which sees players pitted against huge monsters in a medieval fantasy world. It is due for release on May 25. — dpa
