Hit the road: Grab is offering free rides for the next two weeks for all fares under RM7.

PETALING JAYA: Just a day after Uber began offering 99sen fare for rides under 4km in the city, Grab is trying to outdo its rival by offering free rides.

Just like its rival, the offer is for two weeks (Feb 14 to 28) but unlike Uber, its Zerofare promotion is applicable nationwide.

It is valid for both its GrabCar and GrabTaxi but the fare has to be RM7 or lower.

After entering the pick up location and destination on the Grab app, and ensuring that the fare displayed is RM7 or less, the user has to key in the code Zerofare.

The company claims that the promotion will be valid even in standstill traffic unlike Uber’s.

One user can redeem the code up to 30 times but there is also a cap of 10,000 redemptions per day.

The promo is not valid for rides between KLIA and KLIA2, and for its GrabCar Premium, GrabCar (six seater) and GrabHitch.

GrabCar is currently available in the Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, Penang, Malacca and Kota Kinabalu.
