When annual videogame franchises typically take two to three years to be readied for release, December PlayStation 4 release The Last Guardian spent nine years in development. And the long-awaited conclusion to the Team Ico trilogy isn't the only one.... 

Too Human (2008) – Nine years
Norse mythology meets science fiction when the player becomes a cybernetically enhanced god. Initially intended to release in 1999, the game switched console exclusivity from PlayStation to GameCube to Xbox 360. Released to an average reception before its studio was bankrupted in court by a software manufacturer.
