“We have always been gung-ho in pushing for the development of the gaming industry, but there is still a lot to be done,” said MDEC director of creative content and technologies Hasnul Hadi Samsudin.

Hasnul said the conference will also help showcase the vibrant local games development ecosystem to an international audience.

There will also be a SEA Game Jam, a 36-hour game hackathon where developers can get together to design games to stand a chance to win cash prizes. The first prize is RM8,000.

Taking place for the second year, the event is expected to attract more than 400 participants and will also feature sessions on content development, fundraising, marketing and business development.

The ticket price ranges from US$80 (RM340) to US$150 (RM630). For more information, visit here.
