Power talk August Edition with AirAsia founder, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes at MSU in Shah Alam.AZMAN GHANI / The Star

Imagine driving around in the city and being guided by the voice of Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, the group CEO and founder of AirAsia.

Fernandes is the latest figure to lend his voice to the popular driving navigation app, Waze.

Waze has been actively collaborating with celebrities and personalities, including Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, and C-3P0 droid from Star Wars.

Last year the company also collaborated with Maxis in a road safety campaign where the voices of Malaysian children were made available on the app.

“A lot of people ask me what it’s like being an AirAsia pilot. Now you can experience what it’s like to fly high in the sky interacting with me as your air traffic control,” he says.

“And like real air traffic control, I can’t make any promises about the congestion but I can promise that with Waze, we will get you there the quickest and least boring way possible.”

To select the voice option, launch the app, head to Settings then the Sound option and choose “English (UK) - Tony Fernandes”.

Waze can be downloaded from the Google Play store and Apple App Store.
