Oracle told to pay HP US$3bil in chip dispute

DAY IN COURT: Oracle said that it was seeking more than US$200mil (RM761.80mil) in damages and an injunction on Rimini's current business model.

SAN FRANCISCO: A California jury ordered business software giant Oracle to pay Hewlett Packard Enterprise US$3bil (RM11.95bil) for backing off a promise to support data servers powered by Itanium chips. 

Oracle said it had acted properly in the situation and that it planned to appeal to a higher court.
