Highly customisable: The new update brings more options to customise the keyboard to one's personal preference.

There are plenty of choices for virtual keyboards on Android but the stock Google Keyboard is one of the most widely used option.

Google has just released the latest major update – Google Keyboard 5.0 – which makes it even better than before and even introduces a one-handed mode.

Holding down the Enter key will allow you to select the one-handed mode which will shrink the key to the left or right

It’s especially handy if you are using a large-sized device like a phablet which will put all the keys within reach of your finger.

You can also resize the keyboard – if you have a smaller device and find the keyboard is too large, you can fix that now.

The update also makes it easy to remove learned words – to remove a word from the dictionary, hold the word down and drag it to the trash can icon.

However, the old themes – Holo White and Holo Blue – have been removed in favour of Material Light and Material Dark themes.

Google is rolling out the update via the Google Play store and you should be receiving it if you haven’t already.
