REPRIEVE GRANTED: Verizon and other phone companies escaped being subjected to laws governing how they collect and store customer data under the USA Freedom Act.
NEW YORK: Verizon Communications Inc's wireline employees will go on strike starting April 13 after reaching an impasse in talks over a new labour contract, union officials said on April 11.
The Communications Workers of America (CWA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers unions say they jointly represent nearly 40,000 employees of the wireline business, which includes FiOS Internet, telephone and TV services.
