Bravely Second: End Layer — Heroes of Luxendarc

The write way: I'll praise any game whose writing makes me enjoy spending time with the characters who are talking.

Before I talk about Bravely Second: End Layer, the sequel to the JRPG darling Bravely Default, I first want to explain my relationship with Final Fantasy. I was a huge series fan in its early years, enjoying the strong stories and lovable characters, in spite of the relatively simple gameplay. Heck, I still go into sepia-toned nostalgia remembering the heroes reuniting in FF6’s World of Ruin or Aerith’s (sniff!) final scene in FF7.

Unfortunately for me, modern Final Fantasy JRPGs tend to focus more on impressive CGI cutscenes and angsty superheroes with supermodel looks (or who are literally Louis Vuitton models), so I kinda lost interest when the series lost its character-driven heart.
