Cisco tries to bolster cloud credentials with new monitoring tool


PARTNERSHIP: Cisco Systems Inc will establish an US$80mil (RM260.3mil) joint venture with Chinese hardware manufacturer TCL Corp to invest in commercial cloud computing services, TCL said in a stock exchange filing on Thursday.

SAN FRANCISCO: When Cisco introduces its latest product on Jan 13, a tool for monitoring how employees use third-party software, it aims to bolster its offerings in the “cloud,” meaning Internet-delivered services. It also has information technology specialists like Robert Florescu in mind. 

The head of Information technology at New York City-area urgent-care provider CityMD, Florescu must deal with complicated regulations around the privacy of patient data, on top of network security.
