Adobe's Digital Index Online Shopping data reveals that home entertainment and toys could already be proving too popular as gifts this holiday season.
Though neither Black Friday nor Cyber Monday have arrived, a number of goods, including games consoles and action cameras are proving so popular that retailers are running dangerously low on stock.
"Out-of-stock incidents are already higher than last year by 5-to-10%," said Tamara Gaffney, principal research analyst, Adobe Digital Index. "Consumers should shop early to secure popular gift items. Top-selling products like the Xbox One, Samsung Gear VR, Star Wars' Kylo Ren, and the GoPro HERO3 are already low in stock."
Discounts from leading North American online and physical retailers are helping shape consumers' holiday wish lists, but Adobe notes that Samsung and LG TVs, the iPad Mini, Dyson vacuum cleaners and Dell's Inspiron range of computers are also shaping up to be top-selling products in the US this holiday season.
Adobe's figures, which thus far cover the first 24 days of November, are based on 1.7 billion visits to 4,500 retail websites, 75% of all money spent online in the US via one of the country's top 500 retailers passes through Adobe's Marketing Cloud. — AFP Relaxnews
