Philanthropic project: Google used VR cameras and viewers to bring the buzz and energy of the Veterans Day Parade in New York to disabled veterans who could not participate in the event.

NEW YORK: Although more than 20,000 people participated in this year's Veterans Day parade, there were many disabled veterans who could not take part in the celebration.

Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Google, decided to bring the fanfare to them. As part of Google Impact Challenge: Disabilities, Google.org set up 360° cameras on various floats throughout the parade to capture the event in virtual reality.
