Toyota to set up AI research unit in Silicon Valley

Push into artificial intelligence: Toyota Motor Corporation announced it will establish the TRI, an AI research and development company to be headed by Pratt, with a US$1bil investment over the next five years.

TOKYO: Toyota said it will establish a new US$1bil (RM4.31bil) research and development unit focusing on artificial intelligence in Silicon Valley in the United States. 

“Toyota believes artificial intelligence has significant potential to support future industrial technologies and the creation of an entirely new industry,” the world’s number one automaker said in a statement.
