Loving the alien: Alien Pizza is a mix of live action and animation that is influenced by the movie Paul.

The local team that worked on the visuals of Hollywood movies like the Life of Pi, Snow White & The Huntsman, Django Unchained and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters has created a seven-minute clip called Alien Pizza and it’s one of the five movies in the running for the Malaysian component of the DigiCon6 Asia Awards.

Alien Pizza is a live action short film filmed in Kampung Baru with a cute animated alien character called Enul in the lead. “It’s a sci-fi buddy comedy. It was mainly influenced by the movies I grew up with and we tried to put some Hollywood vibe into it as well,” said Azim Hulaiman who helmed the project along with Harees Mahbob, Firdaus Hashim and Ridhwan Razak.
