‘Despicable’ conditions at China iPhone plant: report

History repeats itself: Apple previously faced criticism about working conditions at Foxconn, which seems to have since cleaned up its act, but another storm is brewing over factory workers' "deplorable" living conditions at a Pegatron iPhone-making facility in China.

WASHINGTON: An Apple contractor factory in China houses its workers in overcrowded dormitories lined with mould and crawling with bed bugs, a labour watchdog alleged. 

An undercover report by China Labour Watch on the Shanghai iPhone factory operated by Taiwan’s Pegatron Group is the latest in a series of studies documenting poor conditions at Apple contractor facilities.
