Some of us remember a time when all keyboards had mechanical switches simply because that was the only type of keyboard available and they were some of the nicest keyboards to type on, despite being noisy.
Then keyboard companies switched to quieter membrane keyboards with very mushy keys and we were forced to get a less satisfying typing experience in the name of office harmony.
Well, what goes around comes around and these days keyboards with mechanical switches are making a comeback especially in the gaming world.
Logitech’s new G310 compact mechanical gaming keyboard joins an ever-growing list of keyboards with mechanically actuated keys.
It comes with everything you’d expect in a modern gaming keyboard – with central backlighting for the keys and extra durability to withstand the intense wear and tear expected when gaming.
Logitech claims that the G310’s Romer-G mechanical switches register key presses up to 25% faster than competing mechanical switches and will reliably work for at least 70 million keystrokes.
It is made to be more portable, weighing just 765g and without a number pad or macro keys to keep the keyboard as compact as possible to carry around to gaming tournaments.
The keyboard also comes with Logitech’s Arx Control dock which supports most iOS and Android devices.
Arx Control is the company’s second screen control for smartphones – in this context, Arx Control allows you to quickly view various functions on the G310 as well as access in-game displays, intelligence, vital system performance statistics and media controls.
The Arc Control dock that comes with the G310 can be detached from the keyboard and placed anywhere on the desk for more comfortable viewing.
The G310 keyboard will be available starting August at authorised resellers for RM499 inclusive of GST.
