The British Museum uses Periscope to offer a live-streamed tour

LIVE STREAMED TOUR: A section of marble frieze sculpture (438-432 BC) from the Parthenon in Athens, part of the collection that is popularly referred to as the Elgin Marbles, on display during a press preview of the British Museum's "Defining beauty: The body in ancient Greek art" exhibition. The museum held a special after-hours live tour of the exhibition on Periscope.

On Thursday evening (early Friday morning, May 29 Malaysian time), anyone with the live video streaming app and a smartphone could have followed a special after-hours live tour of the venue's special "Defining Beauty" exhibition. 

Hosted by broadcaster and TV historian Dan Snow, the tour, which also included a live Q&A, started as the museum closed its doors to the public.
