NEW FLAGSHIP: Models showing off the LG G4 smartphone during its launch in Seoul. Equipped with new 5.5in IPS Quantum Display, the G4 features a rare-in-smartphones f/1.8 aperture lens which allows 80% more light to hit the image sensor than in the LG G3.

South Korean electronics company LG unveiled its hotly anticipated new flagship Android G4 phone on April 29 during press events held in several cities, including New York City and London.

While the company has upped its smartphone capabilities and usability, the G4 is also smart-looking with a vegetable-tanned leather back.

It is also available in plastic with a metallic finish.

The G4 boasts a 16-megapixel camera with optical-image stabilisation and an aperture of f/1.8 to capture photos in low light, the company announced.

The new phone also has a 3,000 milliamp-hour removable battery – designed to last over a day – and a microSD car slot for extra storage.

The G4 launches first in South Korea on April 29 and will be arriving in other markets near the end of May or early June. – AFP Relaxnews
