TOKYO: Japan's Sony Corp said its net annual loss will likely be smaller than previously forecast after cost cuts and higher-than-expected sales of its image sensors and PlayStation video game consoles helped its third-quarter profit beat estimates.
The consumer electronics firm said preliminary results showed that operating profit had doubled to 178.3bil yen (RM5.42bil) in the October-December quarter, while sales rose 6% to 2.56tril yen (RM77.86bil).
