LONDON: Britain's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) said it had closed its investigation into the ill-fated sale of British IT firm Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard in 2011, saying there was insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction.
The US company referred the US$11.1bil (RM39.83bil) deal to the British authorities after it announced an US$8.8bil (RM31.58bil) writedown in November 2012, with more than US$5bil (RM17.94bil) put down to accounting fraud.
