Yelp acquires French rival Cityvox


ACQUISITION: A Yelp employee working in New York City. The online review website Yelp announced Tuesday it had acquired French-based rival Cityvox in its latest overseas expansion.

NEW YORK: The online review website Yelp announced Tuesday it had acquired French-based rival Cityvox in its latest overseas expansion. 

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed for Cityvox, a site created in 1999 and bought in 2008 by French telecom giant Orange, which then sold it last year to Novao.
