DELIVERY SERVICE: Screen shot of the official website for Google Express

Google Express has launched new membership options for customers with perks including free same-day or overnight deliveries and first choice of time slots.

One year after the tech giant's shopping service was launched, the company is expanding its reach to Chicago, Boston and Washington DC.

The brand -- previously named Google Shopping Express -- has paired up with local businesses such as Stop & Shop in Boston and Island Foods and Wrigleyville Sports in Chicago to let customers order locally from their smart devices.

Meanwhile, users in the Bay area can use the service to order alcohol.

Google Express allows clients to purchase from local businesses online, with same-day or next-day delivery, a concept similar to that of Amazon Fresh, available in Seattle and parts of Southern and Northern California.

The new Google Express membership will cost US$95(RM310) per year, US$10 (RM32.5) per month, or US$4.99 (RM16.40) per eligible order.
