Samsung has introduced three new printers that can take advantage of NFC (Near Field Communication) to allow users to print from their mobile devices just by tapping them on the printer.

Designed specifically for small offices, the C460W, C460FW and C410W are simple to set up and can even work if they are not connected to a computer.

Users of the company’s Galaxy and Tab devices have the added benefit of being able to print images directly from their device’s Gallery, document, e-mail and web browser.

Other devices have to use the Samsung Mobile Print App, which is available for free for Apple and Android devices, to be able to print everything from PDF files to Microsoft Office documents.

“Our latest printing solutions are grounded in business owners’ desire to print photos and documents directly from their smart devices,” said Samsung Malaysia Electronics president, Lee Dong Yong.

“Also, many companies have embraced the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) culture and it has become more crucial to be able print from their own devices.”

The C410W is purely a printer while both the C460W and C460FW colour laser printers have the ability to print, copy and scan. Scanned documents can be saved directly to your mobile devices.

The C460FW has the added capability of being able to handle faxes as well.

All three models are have a printing speed of up to 18ppm (pages per minute) for mono documents and 4ppm for colour.

The C410W (RM655), C460W (RM1,095) and C460FW (RM1,250) will be available from June onwards.
