An affordable entry-level Android

IF YOU are in the market for an affordable entry-level Android smartphone, the i-Mobile i695 might be something for you to check out. The phone has a sleek brushed aluminium body and features a 3.7in, 262,000 colours TFT touchscreen with IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology display for a full 180-degree viewing angle.

There is also a dual SIM card slot in case you need to use two phone numbers ­simultaneously but only want to carry one device.

The i695 runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and is powered by an MTK MT6573 (650MHz) mobile processor and PowerVR SGX531 graphics chip.

The smartphone’s other features include a 5-megapixel autofocus main camera, a VGA front camera for video calls, A-GPS ­support, Bluetooth as well other standard ones like accelerometer, proximity sensor and ­compass.

Its 1350mAh lithium-ion battery has a rated standby time of up to 325 hours and a talktime of up to five hours. The i695 is priced at RM699 and comes with an 8GB microSD card as part of the package.
