Pikom golf tourney raises RM135,000 for charity


KUALA LUMPUR: Three charities are benefitting from a golf tournament organised by the Association of the Computer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia (Pikom).

Pikom raised RM135,000 from its CXO Charity 2010 tournament. Each of the charities will receive RM45,000.

The charities are the Malaysian Federation of The Deaf, Persatuan Kebajikan Untuk Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Perting in Bentong, and the Rural Hostel SK Malangkap in Kota Marudu.

Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, who was the VIP Guest at the event, witnessed the presentation of mock cheques to the charities.

A record 124 players signed up for the challenge, according to Pikom.
