PETALING JAYA: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has launched a new communications portal, iTalk Whoa, that allows users to stay connected with friends without the hassle of logging in to several websites.
Its executive vice-president for consumer, Jeremy Kung, said iTalk Whoa lets users make calls, chat using instant messaging, create e-mail accounts, and send web-based SMSes.
“The portal aggregates the users’ social sites such as Facebook and Twitter into a single platform for them to organise their social networking,” he told a media briefing at the launch of the portal here yesterday evening.
Kung said iTalk Whoa, a next-generation enhancement for TM users, also offers low voice-call rates and free calls from PC to PC.
“The users can also enjoy nationwide promotional call rates at 18 sen per minute, as well as competitive rates for international calls,” he said.
iTalk Whoa covers 79 countries, including China, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Kung said with iTalk Whoa, SMS rates from a PC would be 10sen (local) and 60sen for international.
“International direct-dial calls start from as low as 11sen and these rates are only applicable via iTalk Whoa,” he added. — Bernama
