KUALA LUMPUR: Thousands of fans were sent on a trip down memory lane at a Teresa Teng tribute concert held at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Wang Jing and Tong Yao from China, along with Taiwanese singer Michelle Hsieh last night took turns to croon Teng’s classics which included Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin (The Moon Represents My Heart), Wo Zhi Zai Hu Ni (I Only Care About You) and Dan Yuan Ren Chang Jiu (Wishing We Last Forever).
Also present was Frank Teng, the elder brother of the late Taiwanese singer and the president of the Teresa Teng Cultural and Education Foundation.
The two-hour show was enhanced by the performances of a 17-piece orchestra as well as 12 dancers from the Hebei Song and Dance Theatre of China.
In addition, Chinese er hu player He Yun and renowned local pianist Richard Hoon lent a classical touch to Teng’s repertoire, which mainly consisted of ballads.
The concert, organised by Dynamix Fantasy Events Sdn Bhd, was in conjunction with the 15th anniversary of Teng’s demise.
