BREAKTHRU FOR A HEALTHIER MALAYSIA


Malaysians embracing fun and fitness through group workouts and community games at the recent Hari Sukan Negara 2025.

AS Malaysians gathered to celebrate Hari Sukan Negara (HSN) 2025 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah in Ipoh from Oct 10 to 11, Gardenia Breakthru joined in to promote the message of living well and staying active.

Organised by the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS), the nationwide celebration brought together Malaysians of all ages in the spirit of health, togetherness and active living.

The event was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Encouraging active living

Gardenia Breakthru’s participation is a reflection of the brand’s continued dedication to promoting a healthier, more active Malaysia.

The brand’s activities aimed to engage Malaysians in fun, fitness-oriented ways while reinforcing KBS’ goal of encouraging an active lifestyle through community-driven, on-ground engagement.

“We believe in the strength and potential of every Malaysian to push forward, live actively, and break through whatever holds them back,” said Gardenia Bakeries KL Sdn Bhd senior marketing manager Ena Suhaila Abas.

She added that Hari Sukan Negara was an opportunity to connect directly with communities beyond the supermarket shelves.

“Through our presence at Hari Sukan Negara, we wanted to connect with the public not just as a brand, but as a fellow supporter of healthier lifestyles and stronger communities. That’s why we embraced the hashtag #BreakThroughAllBarriers as it represents the courage and energy it takes to overcome challenges, big or small, every single day.”

Fun, fitness and flavour

In line with this commitment, Gardenia Breakthru sponsored more than 2,000 Gardenia products throughout the two-day event, providing visitors with the nourishment to stay energised and participate in the day’s activities.

This brand’s wholesome bread reflects its belief that simple daily choices, such as a healthy bite, can lead to a more active and balanced life.

Throughout the event, the Gardenia Breakthru booth welcomed visitors with promotional offers on selected products and light-hearted games such as “Tanduk Bola”, a fan-favourite where participants walked away with special merchandise.

A special combo deal was also offered at RM10, with each purchase included the newly launched Gardenia PUAZZ! Sambal Royale, giving customers a chance to sample the new flavour.

A total of 1,000 combo sets were sold.

Getting Malaysians moving

Gardenia Breakthru hosted a fitness session on the main stage featuring group workouts including Cardio Combat, Zumba and Fit Ball, which drew about 500 participants on Saturday morning.

This highlight session also included interactive Q&A sessions with the crowd, creating an inclusive environment that brought people together for a morning of movement in the name of health.

As one of South-East Asia’s leading bread manufacturers, Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd has been part of Malaysian life since 1986.

Beyond its range of bakery products, the company has long been involved in community outreach.

It donates fresh bread daily to more than 80 charitable organisations nationwide, including old folks’ homes, orphanages and schools for people with disabilities. Several of these organisations have received support from Gardenia for over three decades, since 1991.

HSN 2025 highlighted what can be achieved when government, industry and the community come together with a shared vision.
