CHINESE New Year is a time of vibrant traditions and joyous celebrations, heralding a season of renewal and auspicious beginnings.
This year, as we slither into the Year of the Snake, the Curve invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world of prosperity, elegance and transformation with its Garden of Fortune campaign.
Running till Feb 2, the campaign transforms the mall’s Centre Court into a stunning centrepiece of nature and heritage. It offers a mesmerising mix of enchanting decorations, captivating cultural experiences and exciting activities for visitors of all ages. “The campaign celebrates the essence of CNY – unity, prosperity and renewal,” said the Curve centre manager Elaine Liew.
“Inspired by the wisdom, elegance and transformative energy of the Snake zodiac, we wanted to create a festive experience that resonates deeply with these values. “From the beautiful decorations to cultural performances and community-driven initiatives, we aim to offer visitors moments of joy, connection and cherished memories.
“On behalf of the Curve, I wish everyone ‘Gong Xi Fa Cai’ and a prosperous and abundant year ahead.”
The mall’s backdrop creates an auspicious environment for ushering in a prosperous new year.
Inspired by the snake’s symbolism of transformation and wisdom, the decor features lush greenery, intricate floral displays and serpentine motifs, perfectly capturing the harmony of tradition and modernity.
To elevate the festive cheer, the Curve has curated an exciting lineup of weekend performances and activities. Highlights include acrobatic lion dance performances, which bring good fortune and joy, and traditional Chinese musical showcases like guzheng performances and live speed-painting demonstrations that celebrate the artistry of cultural heritage.
Visitors can also enjoy wushu dance fusions, drum performances and traditional Chinese dance showcases.
The mall’s Western Courtyard will even offer engaging and insightful experiences, as visitors can explore the insights of their zodiac signs for the year. Children can also participate in hands-on cultural workshops with activities such as Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, brush painting and fan art.
The God of Prosperity will be spreading blessings and joy, handing out gold coins and Mandarin oranges to visitors. On Jan 18, there will be a God of Prosperity walkabout to selected tenants where children can enjoy collecting lucky tokens.
Sharing prosperity
The Garden of Fortune campaign will also reward shoppers through the Curve’s gift-with-purchase programme.
With a minimum spend of RM288, shoppers can redeem an exclusive set of festive red packets, while spending RM388 will entitle them to limited-edition merchandise. Visitors can even claim a 2025 calendar through the Mutiara X app.
Beyond the festive celebrations, the Curve is committed to spreading joy and compassion through a meaningful corporate social responsibility initiative.
Shoppers and visitors alike are encouraged to contribute essential items to a dedicated food and gift bank at the Centre Court.
In collaboration with Star Media Group’s Chinese-language radio station, 988 FM, the mall will extend its support to the community by visiting an old folks home to conduct spring cleaning, and donate essential items and CNY goodies.
This initiative embodies the spirit of the season, emphasising the importance of sharing prosperity, fostering unity and bringing warmth and cheer to those in need.
