Top seed Kei lifts Malaysian Open title (updated)


KUALA LUMPUR: It was a much savoured win for US Open finalist Kei Nishikori who landed his first Malaysian Open ATP 250 title after a hard fought win over Julien Benneteau at the Putra Stadium.

The 24-year-old Japanese, who has been having a breakout year, had to dig deep for the 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 win in an hour and 47 minutes on Sunday.
