Abhinaya and Virgin put up splashing show in Open water event


PETALING JAYA: Indonesia dominated the waters of Putrajaya Lake as Muhamad Abhinaya Purawan and Virgin Silvia Natan (pic) led a one-two finish in the men’s and women’s 5km events at the NX113 Asean Festival Open Water Swimming Championships on Sunday.

Abhinaya,18, was clearly in a class of his own as he completed the race in 1’13:22s, four minutes ahead of second place finisher and compatriot Enrico Abishua with 1’17:23s, while Malaysian Terry Chong came in third at 1’17:23s.
