PETALING JAYA: Perseverance and unstinting financial support were the reasons behind the Federal Territories finally ending their 12-year wait to become overall champions in the Malaysia Games (Sukma) swimming competition.

The FT swimmers splashed their way to 11 golds, 11 silvers and three bronzes.
