JAYDEN Tan sprang an upset by beating Bukit Jalil-based Sebastian Soon to claim his first Malaysia Games (Sukma) gold medal as the swimming competition got under way at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil.

The 18-year-old powered to victory in the men’s 400m individual medley in 4:28.22 ahead of fellow Federal Territories teammate Sebastian.
