Medals dry up as Singapore and Vietnam go trawling

SWIMMING is a big worry to Malaysia in the SEA Games as the two-gold haul from the pool, thanks to explosive performances from woman breaststroker Phee Jinq En, is the lowest haul since Chiang Mai SEA Games in 1995 (2-2-2).

It is sad for the Malaysian contingent that swimming is unable to contribute much as the sport offers a total of 38 gold medals. The medals have come down to a trickle for Malaysia lately and what is more glaring is the absence of Malaysian swimmers in some events.
