THERE was disbelief on Phee Jinq En’s face as she glanced up at the board. She had won the gold – by one hundredth of a second, the narrowest of margins.

The 22-year-old ended the nation’s wait for a SEA Games swimming gold medal by claiming the women’s 50m breaststroke gold medal, clocking 31.40 in the final last night.
