Youngster Anas dedicates the gold to dad after breaking 100m freestyle record

Joyful embrace: Malaysian para swimmer Anas Zul Amirul Sidi celebrating his victory with his father Zul Amirul Sidi Abdullah after winning 100m freestyle S14 event at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil.

ANAS Zul Amirul Sidi hated his father for throwing him into the Sarawak River when he was only five years old.

But the first person the 16-year-old reached out to after climbing out of the pool yesterday was his father Zul Amirul Sidi Abdullah, who is also in the national swimming team.
