PETALING JAYA: Welson Sim has started his preparations early in a bid to become the first Malaysian to sweep the men’s middle and long distance swimming gold medals at the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games next year.

Swimming coach Paul Birmingham took Welson, who made his Olympic bow in Rio de Janeiro in August, for a week’s high-altitude training in Kunming, China, together with Keith Lim, Yeap Zheng Yang, Chan Jie, Caroline Chan and Angela Chieng.
