Xin Ying bags first title of the year with RC Pro Series win

PETALING JAYA: National squash player Yee Xin Ying captured her first title of the year in stunning fashion by taking down top seed Lucy Beecroft of England in straight sets to win the RC Pro Series on Thursday (April 17).

Seventh seed Yee made quick work of Beecroft as she won 11-7, 11-5, 11-5 in 31 minutes to claim the 15K PSA Challenger event in St Louis, United States.

World No. 77 Yee has now recorded her second win against the world No. 40 Beecroft, following her previous victory against her at the St. James Women’s 20K Classic in 2023.

In the semi-finals, the 21-year-old Yee, who won bronze at the Under-23 World Championships in Pakistan earlier this month, had also made short work of world No. 83 Margot Prow of Brazil by winning 11-6, 11-7, 11-6 in 30 minutes.
