Sivasangari loses to Nouran Gohar in El Gouna International

PETALING JAYA: National squash player S. Sivasangari is out of the El Gouna International after losing to Egypt's world No. 3 Nouran Gohar.

The 13th-ranked Sivasangari lost in straight sets 11-6, 11-8, 11-4 to the tournament's second seed in the second round on Saturday (April 20).

Sivasangari, who won the London Classic earlier this month, was supposed to meet Egypt's Hania El Hammamy in the second round, but the world No. 2 withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Gohar in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) platinum-level event.

The win for Gohar was the third straight win over Sivasangari. Their last encounter was at the 2022 British Open.
